First Baseball game!
Last Friday, Mia went to her first baseball game! It was Northwoods Night at the Peoria Chiefs game, so we shared her experience with lots from our church family. She rotated from seat to seat, playing with her friends and watching the game. Unforounately, the Chiefs did not win, but there was a great fireworks display afterwards. As Eliza said "I'm going to remember this night forever!" The time spent with friends was fun though, and she collected various baseballs to bring home.

Fireworks!
On July 4, we had a VERY busy day of fun, food, family & friends! First, we visit for Mia's second 4th of July at Twin Maple Campgrounds. She got to swim, play in the dirt, and play with cousins! My parents were visiting, and it was my mom's first 4th in Iowa for almost 10 years! Later, we had our 4th of July celebration with friends where we ate, played bags, and then went to the fireworks. Mia loved the bright lights and didn't get scared until the finale. She pointed, and oohhed and ahhed, it was adorable.

Father's Day
We had a great Father's Day. It started with church in the morning where Joe and I sang/played on the worship team. Then we had Joe's dad over for lunch and Joe did an excellent job making hamburgers on the grill. Mia loved having Grandpa visit, and she surprised him how much she could point to in her new book!
After Sunday naps, we went to Macomb to spend time with Joe's step-dad and grilled out, yet again, and Mia played in a VERY cold sprinkler! It was a great day celebrating dads, grandpas, and opas!

Whoops...

Oh gosh, I am awful. Over 6 months and no posts...my sincerest apologies. No need to fill you in, let's start right where we are. Mia is CRAZY! She loves to hug & kiss, walk & RUN, read & play, and SO much more! At 17 months, she is so independant and is very good at playing by herself and keeping herself busy. My friend, a parent educator, said that we would see a spike in language development at about 18 months...well it seems that in the last week she has started to say even more words! Her favorites include: mom, dad, hi, and dog. And within the last few days...ELMO!! She loves Elmo, and likes to find him in books and on TV. Tonight she also said her friend's names, Danni & Liza (Eliza). She's getting so big, it's hard to believe she's almost a year and a half! Her other favorite things to do are playing on her swing & slide, swimming at the Y, going to the park to play, and reading books by herself & with mom or dad. I promise, I will do my best to try and update more! The picture is Mommy & Mia's MOther's Day 2011 photo.
